Job Description Summary:

We are excited to offer a summer internship opportunity to a talented student to join our Decision Solutions business area.
As an intern you will have the opportunity to support our project management team and gain hands-on experience in program management. You will work closely with our experienced program managers to develop and execute projects and contribute to the success of our business area. Responsibilities:
Assist the project management team in planning and executing research development and test projects
Leverage operational expertise to outline engagement options with end-users of undersea autonomy and other unmanned undersea systems including considerations for engagement cadence format and leave-behinds
Support the development and implementation of program plans Integrated Master Schedules and other supporting planning artifacts
Assist in analyzing and evaluating autonomous systems and technologies including their potential applications and benefits for the organization.
Help monitor project status and provide program status updates including completion of routine project management reviews and customer status reports
Leverage expertise in special operations and the undersea domain to inform business development and strategy efforts including identifying new opportunities and potential partnerships
Maintain action items list and problem tracking systems and assist in resolving issues
Assist in the development and delivery of project proposals to external customers
Support the program manager with business intelligence analysis and market research
Support risk identification and mitigation efforts
Interact with program business area leads and portfolio managers to support technical portfolios

Job Description:

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Design develop and enhancement engineering solutions for challenging problems.

  • Implement test perform analysis and provide documentation support.

  • Generate and present test reports including plots tables evaluation criteria and conclusions from data collected and analyzed throughout the test process.

  • Complete assignments designed to develop a practical knowledge of processes procedures equipment facilities and systems as well as their interrelationships within engineering disciplines.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Program Requirements

  • Enrolled in an accredited full-time undergraduate or graduate degree program required.

  • There is flexibility regarding hours and program duration based on applicants school schedule and availability.

Skills/Abilities

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

  • Excellent work ethic with the ability to work independently or in a team environment.

  • Ability to adapt to ever-changing environments risks and vulnerabilities.

  • Strong computer skills including MS Word PowerPoint and Excel.

Additional Job Description:

Eligibility:

  • Currently enrolled in a degree program (Bachelors or Masters) in a relevant engineering technical or business field of study
  • Strong academic record and demonstrated interest in program management
  • Ability to work 10-12 weeks during the summer (or other agreed-upon schedule)
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to obtain a security clearance (U.S. citizenship required)

Security Requirements:

This internship requires the candidate to be a U.S. citizen and be eligible to obtain a security clearance with an in-scope Background Investigation and ability to attain TS/SCI.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous internship or co-op experience in program management or a related field
  • Experience with undersea technologies and relevant DOW capabilities
  • Basic knowledge of program management principles and practices
  • Familiarity with project management tools and techniques

The US base salary range for this full-time position is

$20.00 - $45.00

Our salary ranges are determined by role level and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors including job-related skills experience and relevant education or training. Union ranges will be in compliance with the collective bargaining agreements approved rates by location and role.
