Job Summary
The Protective Services Detail Manager (PSDM) serves as a shift-level tactical commander responsible for the execution readiness and oversight of all armed Protective Services operations. This position provides operational command leadership for all PSO classifications (PSO1 PSO2 and PSO3) and ensures consistent deployment tactical alignment and disciplined execution across assigned shifts.
The PSDM is accountable for armed operational readiness incident response coordination and supervisory oversight through direct leadership of PSD Supervisors (PSDS). During critical incidents this role may serve in a command or tactical leadership capacity depending on incident scope and complexity ensuring alignment with established incident command structures and senior leadership direction.
This position upholds a centralized disciplined command structure reinforces use-of-force governance and ensures all operations are conducted in compliance with regulatory requirements while maintaining Forbes Five-Star service standards in a high-risk high-liability environment.
Essential Duties (include but are not limited to)
- Provide command-level oversight of all Protective Services Detail operations during assigned shifts and maintain overall responsibility for shift execution across PSO3 PSO2 and PSO1 functions.
- Direct and supervise PSD Supervisor(s) to ensure tactical readiness disciplined deployment and consistent field execution; PSO1/PSO2/PSO3 personnel report to PSDS.
- Serve as Incident Commander or Deputy Incident Commander during critical incidents when designated including violent encounters weapons-related events or executive protection emergencies.
- Oversee operational doctrine and shift execution related to armed response use-of-force application and tactical deployment models.
- Maintain oversight of staffing models deployment plans and operational coverage across PSO tiers for assigned shifts.
- Ensure compliance with Nevada Revised Statutes Gaming Control Board regulations and department policies applicable to armed operations.
- Coordinate with internal partners and external agencies as required to resolve incidents support investigations and maintain scene management protocols.
- Oversee post-incident debriefs and after-action reviews for assigned shift incidents ensuring corrective action and accountability.
- Oversee and/or participate in the hiring and selection process for PSO1 PSO2 PSO3 and PSD Supervisor (PSDS) positions including candidate screening interview participation and selection recommendations in coordination with Security Administration and Training.
- Ensure shift personnel maintain required armed readiness standards (qualification status training compliance and assignment eligibility) and immediately escalate any lapse.
- Promote a culture of professionalism discipline accountability and tactical excellence while upholding Forbes Five-Star service standards.
- Any other duties assigned by the Director Executive Director or Vice President.
Qualifications :
Minimum Qualifications
- Minimum Six (6) years of progressively responsible experience in law enforcement military service or professional armed security operations.
- Demonstrated leadership experience in a supervisory or management capacity.
- Proven ability to lead personnel during high-risk incidents.
- Strong communication and leadership skills.
- High school diploma required; college preferred.
- Must be 21 years of age or older.
- Must be able to stand sit kneel lift and walk indoors and outdoors for extended periods of time.
Licenses & Certifications
- Nevada Carrying Concealed Weapon (CCW) permit or HR 218 certification (or ability to obtain within six months).
- Nevada Gaming Registration.
- Alcohol Awareness (AES) Card.
- First Aid certification.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- CPR certification.
- Valid Nevada Drivers License.
Training & Compliance
- Advanced firearms and defensive tactics proficiency.
- Demonstrated knowledge of use-of-force standards and regulatory compliance.
- Completion of Incident Command System (ICS) training or equivalent command-level certification preferred.
- Successful completion of PSD pre-hire physical assessment and annually thereafter.
- Successful completion of background investigation and psychological evaluation.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a luxury resort or Forbes-rated environment.
- Experience supervising multi-tiered armed teams.
- Experience in executive protection or critical incident response.
