Chief Engineer
Job Summary
As the Chief Engineer youre the backbone of our building ensuring that everything behind the scenes runs like clockwork. From technical systems to preventive maintenance from energy efficiency to team leadership you keep the hotel operating at its best. Your work allows our teams to deliver seamless service and our guests to enjoy a safe comfortable and memorable stay.
This is your daily contribution to an exceptional guest experience
- Oversee the daily operation and maintenance of all engineering systems HVAC electrical plumbing and mechanical;
- Lead schedule and support the engineering team ensuring effective coverage and high standards of work;
- Manage and implement preventive maintenance programs for equipment guest rooms and public areas;
- Respond quickly to maintenance requests or emergencies minimising disruption to operations and guests;
- Collaborate with department heads to support operational needs and ensure seamless service delivery;
- Ensure compliance with health safety and environmental standards as well as legal and brand requirements;
- Manage contractors service providers and external inspections ensuring quality and timely work;
- Monitor and optimise energy use utilities and maintenance budgets;
- Keep detailed maintenance records and assist with capital planning and project implementation;
- Train your team on safety emergency procedures and best practices.
Qualifications :
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Mechanical Electrical Civil Engineering or a related field.
- 7 years of experience in hotel engineering or facilities management with at least 3 years in a senior engineering leadership role.
- Strong technical knowledge of building systems including HVAC electrical plumbing and fire safety.
- Experience in budgeting project management and contractor management.
- Excellent leadership communication and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of sustainability practices and energy management systems is preferred.
- Familiarity with local regulations building codes and safety standards.

- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in relevant software and systems including BMS (Building Management Systems).
