CS&A Responsible Engineer (RE)

The RE holds full technical accountability for Civils Structural & Architectural (CS&A) engineering within their area ensuring all work is safe compliant and fit for purpose across the project lifecycle .

Working to R2A2 (ED21) youll provide technical leadership governance and assurance while retaining responsibility for key engineering decisionseven when delegated .

Key Responsibilities & Experience:

• Strong CS&A background in regulated safety-critical environments
• Proven technical accountability & decision-making experience
• Ensure compliance with legislation standards and safety requirements
• Establish governance assurance & verification processes
• Lead multi-disciplinary teams & resolve complex technical issues
• Interface with project teams regulators & assurance bodies
• Promote a strong safety quality & compliance culture

Desirable Experience:

• Planning site master planning & council engagement
• Contaminated land utilities & ground investigations
• Seismic & heavy industrial/plant room design
• Nuclear or high-hazard environments
• Safety case development & regulatory engagement
• Full lifecycle delivery: concept commissioning
• Managing deviations non-conformances & improvements

Requirements:

• Familiar with engineering governance & gated processes
• SQEP aligned with SR0698 & ED21 standards

Qualifications :

Essential Qualifications

• Degree (or equivalent) in CS&A or related engineering discipline
• Extensive CS&A experience suitable for a Responsible Engineer role
• Chartered Engineer (or equivalent) with a recognised institution
• Able to meet security clearance & site access requirements

Desirable Qualifications

• Fellowship or senior membership of a professional institution
• Training in nuclear safety functional safety or systems engineering
• Postgraduate qualification in engineering or management
