What youll do:

As a Senior Auditor youll assist in the planning for and assessing of design and operating effectiveness of controls for various audits in your assigned coverage areas supporting the execution of the departments annual audit plan. Youll prepare for and attend or lead process walkthrough meetings document process narratives and test high risk or complex controls for adherence to bank policies and procedures and compliance with federal and state banking regulations. Youll follow a similar process for testing and validating high risk or complex implemented management action plans designed to close audit issues. Youll report to an Associate Audit Director and will have the opportunity to work with our audit leaders across the department participating in audits in finance banking operations credit administration risk management and compliance disciplines. Your Associate Audit Director will serve as your mentor to assist in your professional development. Youll also have the opportunity of attending and participating in your peer group meetings which provide support and insight as your career develops.
  • Support the Audit Director Associate Audit Director and Audit Project Manager with audits across the organization and completes multiple audit assignments and/or projects. Understand risk management frameworks to help in internal control evaluation of audit assignments. Assist in audit planning for various audit assignments and/or projects. Using the audit software (Wdesk/Workiva) create audit documentation for process narratives assist in drafting the risk & control matrix and related audit test steps based on audit scope and per audit methodology. Test the design and operating effectiveness of higher risk/complex controls to established policies & procedures as well as regulatory guidance. Respond to review notes generated by the Audit Project Manager and Associate Audit Director. Provide conclusions and recommendations per audit methodology. Performs additional testing as determined to be necessary.
  • As assigned plan and perform test of validation for implemented management action plans. Assist in the closure of audit issues per audit methodology. Provide ad-hoc reports and status updates to supervisors. Comply with department annual training requirements and proactively draft and discuss performance goals with Associate Audit Director. Attend and participate in team peer and one-on-one meetings.

What youll need:

  • This role is primarily focused on audits related to the banks credit and lending functions including underwriting structure collateral approval and portfolio oversight is provided over the residential lending portfolios.
  • Relevant certifications preferred (i.e. CPA CIA CRC)
  • Prior relevant experience in financial services and internal audit preferred but not required
  • Knowledge of applicable regulatory and legal compliance obligations rules and regulations industry standards and practices preferred
  • Bachelors degree required
  • Skills expected relative to experience level include time management organizational public speaking and written communication
  • Occasional travel may be required
