Position: APS4/5 Security Project Administration Officer
Location: Canberra ACT
Start date: ASAP
Duration:
- Position 1: Approx. 6 months with potential to extend
- Position 2: Approx. 12 months with potential to extend
Pay rate:
- APS4: $53.92 - $57.48 per hour plus 12% super
- APS5: $59.46 - $63.53 per hour plus 12% super
Security requirements: Applicants must hold a minimum Negative Vetting 2 clearance at time of application
Overview:
An Australian Government department is seeking highly organised and motivated APS4/5 Security Project Administration Officers to provide project-specific contract administration support and general administrative assistance to Project Managers within a security-focused division.
These positions support multiple projects and require strong stakeholder engagement skills attention to detail and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
- Provide contract administration support to Project Managers
- Liaise effectively with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders
- Prepare manage and maintain project documentation and records
- Provide administrative support including scheduling meetings preparing agendas and distributing minutes
- Assist in preparing compliance reports for project board reviews
- Contribute to policy and operational process development
- Provide broader administrative assistance across the section as required
- Undertake additional duties as directed
- Develop presentations and slide packs using PowerPoint
Experience/requirements:
- Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
- Excellent attention to detail and sound judgement
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment
- Resilience and adaptability in a fast-paced workplace
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and SharePoint
- Demonstrated personal drive integrity and commitment to high-quality outcomes
Desirable:
- Knowledge of the Australian Government Protective Security Framework
- Understanding of APS Values and Code of Conduct requirements
