SUMMARY

Position Overview:

  • Monitor daily clinic flow including employee assignments in addition to responsibilities such as technical and clerical functions.
  • Works closely with clinic leaders to coordinate schedules andassistin promoting an efficient and productive clinic.
  • Assists Physicians with examinations testingtreatmentsand administrative duties

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:The following are general responsibilities associated with the job and are listed in order of greatest to least amount of time spent on the duties.

  • Updates and communicates practice policies and procedures to clinical staff.
  • Acts as a liaison between clinic leadership and the clinic staff.
  • Provides input to clinic leadership to improve clinic efficiency and productivity.
  • Assiststhe clinic leader in the training andevaluationof clinical staff. May be asked to provide input to clinicleadersfor employee reviews.
  • Monitors clinical staff for compliance with clinic policies.
  • Monitors team hours to minimize overtime and make changes to the schedule as patient flow allows communicating to the clinic leader whenappropriate.
  • Maintains knowledge of all aspects of the clinic such as front desk medical records surgery scheduling and contact center for coordination purposes.
  • Completes tasks requested by Physicians and delegates asappropriate.
  • Assistsin triage for patient calls and walk-ins (go to person on the team).
  • Other duties as assigned.



EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required
  • One year of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience

LICENSES AND CREDENTIALS

  • Current Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) or Certified Ophthalmic Technician (COT) certification is preferred but not required
  • Ophthalmic Scribe Certification (OSC) certification is preferred but not required

SYSTEMS AND TECHNOLOGY

  • Requires proficient keyboarding skills use of Electronic Medical Record (EMR) and image management system
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel Word PowerPoint Outlook
  • Computer proficiency and ability to quickly learn new applications

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • This role requires a variety of physical activities to effectively perform essential job functions. The position involves frequent walking (75%) sitting (50%) and standing (50%) with regular bending stooping and reaching (2550%). Employees must be able to lift carry push and pull items up to 25 lbs. Strong fine motor skills and full use of hands are essential as the role demands constant grasping writing/typing and use of technology. Visual and auditory acuity - including color depth peripheral vision and the ability to adjust focus - is required 100% of the time. Occasional driving or climbing may also be necessary.
