Our client is an established food manufacturer (client confidential) investing in R&D and product innovation for international markets. Specific company name product category and factory location will be disclosed to shortlisted candidates at interview stage.
Role Overview
The R&D Manager leads product innovation and improvement across the full development cycle from concept to commercialization. You will lead a team of R&D scientists and technicians ensuring products meet nutritional regulatory and quality standards while driving cost optimization and technical excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Product Development Lead new product R&D including formulation testing sensory evaluation and factory scale-up.
- Innovation & Strategy Identify market trends consumer insights and new opportunities for product innovation and renovation.
- Team Leadership Manage mentor and guide R&D technicians and scientists to ensure projects are completed within timelines and budgets.
- Technical Compliance Ensure compliance with safety standards (GMP HACCP ISO 22000) ingredient regulations and nutritional guidelines.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration Coordinate with Marketing QA/QC Supply Chain and Operations to ensure feasibility and smooth product launches.
- Cost Management Optimize raw materials and manufacturing processes to maintain quality while maximizing cost efficiency.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelors degree or higher in Food Science or related field.
- Experience: 510 years direct experience in food product development.
- Technical Skills: Food formulation ingredient functionality regulatory standards (international and Thai/local).
- Process Tech: Strong understanding of relevant processing technologies (extrusion sterilization etc.).
- Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead teams manage projects and communicate effectively across departments.
- Excellent project management and problem-solving skills.
