PEER SPECIALIST INDIGENOUS MOBILE WITHDRAWAL MANAGEMENT SERVICES (24-26)

Purpose of the Position: The position is to carryout case management psychosocial rehabilitation crisis intervention and treatment for individuals living with mental illness and/or addictions. These team members have the clinical skills and experience necessary to assess plan develop co-ordinate and provide treatment by way of rehabilitative and supportive services in a multi-disciplinary and/or collaborative environments.
Education and Qualifications:
- Knowledge of Indigenous populations within the traditional lands of the Williams and Robinson Huron Treaty (specifically Muskoka and Parry Sound Districts).
- Knowledge and awareness of Indigenous culture and an understanding of traditional language importance.
- Identify and describe a range of traditional and non-traditional healing and wellness practices and sources of expertise including elders and healers (Two Eyed Seeing approach).
- Ability to work autonomously as well as cooperatively within a team environment in a rural setting. One year working experience with adults in the addictions treatment system.
- Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD).
- Excellent communication organization and interpersonal skills.
- Certification with Ontario Peer Development Initiative or willingness to acquire certification.
- One-year personal experience in the mental health system as a consumer/ survivor/ or family member
- As a member of a multidisciplinary team and with strong clinical-case management abilities provide recovery-oriented supports to clients living with mental health and/or addictions needs in a congregate living setting.
- Awareness and application of psychosocial rehabilitation and recovery-oriented services an asset.
- Experience providing case management services to those experiencing mental illness/addictions
- Familiarity with Psychosocial Rehabilitation principles and practices and the concept of recovery as asset.
- A commitment to the rights of those experiencing mental illness/addictions.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows the Internet and data management software.
- A willingness to serve clients within the communities of the District of Muskoka and Parry Sound.
- A valid Ontario G or G2 drivers license a safe and reliable means of transportation and appropriate insurance for work purposes on your vehicle with a minimum of $in liability coverage.
- Bilingual in French/English language considered an asset.
- Indigenous Cultural Awareness and Education is a requirement.
- Work schedule may include days/evenings/weekends and statutory holidays.
Salary scale: $25.26 to $29.98 per hour commensurate with qualifications and experience
