As a Speech Language Pathologist you will be responsible for assessing diagnosing and treating speech language and swallowing disorders in older adults. This is a full-time position with a salary range of 41-48 per hour and a 30-hour workweek Monday through Friday with a weekend rotation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive evaluations to assess speech language and swallowing abilities in geriatric patients
- Develop individualized treatment plans based on evaluation results and patient goals
- Provide evidence-based therapy interventions to improve speech language and swallowing abilities
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals such as physicians and occupational therapists to ensure a holistic approach to patient care
- Monitor and document patient progress adjusting treatment plans as needed
- Educate patients and their families on strategies for improving communication and swallowing skills
- Stay up-to-date on the latest research and techniques in geriatric speech therapy
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with regulatory and facility guidelines
- Adhere to ethical and professional standards as set by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA)
Qualifications:
- Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program
- Current state license or eligibility for state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from ASHA preferred
- Minimum of 2 years of experience working with geriatric patients
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Flexibility to work a weekend rotation as needed
- CPR certification
