Job Summary
Pay Grade:Teacher Pay Scale
Primary Purpose:
Provide students with appropriate learning activities and experiences designed to help them fulfill their potential for intellectual emotional physical and social growth. Enable students to develop competencies and skills to function successfully in society.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
- High school diploma or GED required
- Associates degree or higher preferred especially in education science technology engineering or mathematics
- Valid paraprofessional certification (or ability to obtain)
- Meet federal/state requirements for paraprofessionals (e.g. completion of 48 college hours or passing a paraprofessional assessment if applicable)
AsSpecial Knowledge/Skills:
- Basic knowledge of STEM concepts (science technology engineering and math) appropriate for elementary students
- Ability to support hands-on inquiry-based learning activities and experiments
- Strong organizational skills to manage materials tools and STEM resources
- Ability to assist with small group instruction and reinforce teacher-led lessons
- Knowledge of basic technology tools (Chromebooks tablets educational apps coding platforms etc.)
- Ability to follow teacher lesson plans and provide instructional support
- Strong classroom management support skills
- Effective communication skills with students staff and parents
- Ability to motivate and engage students in problem-solving and critical thinking
- Flexibility and willingness to support multiple grade levels and instructional settings
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times
