Job Summary

Job Overview

The Assistant Dean reports to the Dean of Academic Programs. The Assistant Dean works collaboratively with the Faculty Center Director to ensure consistent leadership and provide strategic direction for the Universitys central hub for teaching and learning excellence faculty professional development and faculty community-building. The Assistant Dean oversees operations of the Faculty Center and provides space for programing that is by-faculty-for-faculty. The Assistant Dean provides administrative leadership for faculty development inclusive evidence-based pedagogy instructional design integration and faculty support programs that advance student learning and institutional effectiveness. The Assistant Dean provides leadership for and serves on the North County Higher Education Association (NCHEA).

The Assistant Dean serves as the campus lead for teaching and learning excellence coordinating with Academic Programs Academic Technology Institutional Research Deans the Provosts Office and the Faculty Center Advisory Council. The Assistant Dean also supervises the Centers staff including the Faculty Center Coordinator/Analyst instructional designers/education developers once transitioned to the Center and the Centers faculty fellows consistent with current Faculty Center structures.

Assistant Dean Faculty Center (Administrator II)

This is a full-timeexempt position in the Management Personnel Plan (MPP). MPP positions serve at the pleasure of the President.

Pay Benefits and Work Schedule

Anticipated Hiring Salary Range: $10417 - $12500 per month

CSU Classification Salary Range: $5053 - $16221 per month

Salary is commensurate with the background and experience of the individual selected.

This position is eligible for a broad range of benefits including medical dental vision life and disability insurances retirement (CalPERS) tuition waiver vacation and sick addition 15 paid holidays are offered each year; 14 scheduled on specific days and a Personal Holiday that may be taken any time during the year.
