Summary: Performs radiographic procedures and a variety of technical procedures to neonate pediatric adolescent adult and geriatric patients that require independent judgement in order to apply prescribed ionizing radiation for diagnosis. Assumes responsibility for designated areas or procedures as assigned. Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide the appropriate care to the age of the patient served by the Department of Imaging Services.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Requires two (2) years of college. General knowledge of a specialized or technical field normally associated with an A.A. or A.S. degree.
Experience: No prior experience required. Could rely on education and knowledge required for employment. Three to six months required for learning period.
License: NYS Radiologic Technologist; ARRT certification or eligibility.
Working Conditions:
Manual: Some manual skills/motor coord & finger dexterity
Occupational: Some occupational risk
Physical Effort: Medium to Heavy effort. May exert up to 35 lbs. force
Physical Environment: Some exposure to dirt odors noise human waste etc.
