Position Summary
The Math Interventionist provides targeted academic support to students in grades 16 who are performing below grade-level expectations in mathematics and are not currently identified for special education services. This position focuses on accelerating student growth through evidence-based interventions collaboration with classroom teachers and active participation in the Student Intervention Team (SIT) process.
The interventionist plays a key role in supporting the schools multi-tiered system of support (MTSS) by delivering Tier II and Tier III interventions monitoring progress and helping ensure that all students have access to meaningful learning opportunities within the general education setting.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Instruction & Intervention
Provide small-group and/or individualized math intervention aligned to grade-level standards
Use research-based strategies to address foundational math skill gaps
Differentiate instruction to meet diverse student needs and learning styles
Support student engagement and build confidence in mathematics.
Progress Monitoring & Data
Collect analyze and maintain detailed records of student progress
Use data to adjust interventions and inform instructional decisions
Prepare documentation for SIT meetings and communicate progress with staff and families.
Collaboration
Work closely with classroom teachers specialists and administration
Build positive relationships with students staff and families
Effectively navigate and collaborate with a variety of personalities and professional styles.
Required
Valid Oregon teaching license (or ability to obtain)
Strong knowledge of elementary math content and instructional strategies
Experience working with struggling learners
Ability to organize and maintain detailed documentation and data systems
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Working Conditions
School-based position working with students in small group and classroom settings
Frequent collaboration with staff and participation in team meetings
Requires consistent documentation and progress monitoring.
Position to begin in the 2026/2027 school year.
COMPENSATION:
- 190day contract
- Family medical dental and vision insurance
- 6% PERS paid by District
- $/Annual
