What we are hiring for:
We are currently hiring a contract full-time Direct Support Coordinator for our Community Connections program in Lambton County Ontario.
Direct Support Coordinators make a difference in peoples lives by providing support to people with developmental disabilities in all activities of daily living in their homes and the community and by fostering independence and personal conjunction with the person their team and family/friends Direct Support Coordinators are responsible for planning and overseeing provision of support along with creating skill development opportunities for people supported in aspiration to reach their life goals.
What you will need:
- Developmental Service Worker or related diploma (ie: SSW CYW B.A. in Psychology etc.)
- Experience working with people with developmental disabilities
- Valid G or G2 class license and reliable vehicle
- Be willing to provide a clear Vulnerable Sector Police Check
- Be legally entitled to work in Canada
- Current certification in First Aid/CPR required
- Current certification in NVCPI or willing to obtain
- Providing support to people with developmental disabilities in their homes and the community
- Teaching and assisting with daily supports (ex. assistance with meal preparation personal hygiene medication administration appointments housekeeping responsibilities and money management)
- Facilitating opportunities for individual skill development independence personal growth cultivating relationships in their community and leisure activities as directed by the person
- Knowledge of Journey to Belonging and a desire to support people in making meaningful community connections
- Use of personal vehicle required
- Must be able to work independently
Compensation and scheduling:
- $28.55 - $29.38 per hour based on experience
- Contract full-time 40 hours per week including days afternoons weekends or nights
