KGW in Portland Oregon is looking for a highly skilled video editor to join our news team full-time. We are seeking a creative and efficient editor who can edit accurate and energized content for television social media and mobile from newsroom-generated source material. Our ideal candidate is familiar with the latest editing software tools and techniques and has a passion for the craft and upholds the highest standards in journalism.

Responsibilities:
Creative storytelling of the highest journalistic standards editing a variety of video elements including voice-overs SOTS packages graphics and teases.
Ability to operate non-linear edit systems experience with Edius and Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere After Effects Adobe Stock & Photoshop) a plus.
Experience creating vertical video on common platforms a plus (YouTube shorts Instagram reels)
Must always have a professional demeanor and work well as a team player with newsroom team and staff in an open-plan workspace.
Ability to multi-task self-direct to meet newsroom workflow demands handle editing assignments understand a central media ingest process to capture feeds FTP material downloads of shared content while constantly monitoring quality control story scripts and producer notes.

Requirements:
BA/BS in journalism communications or related field or commensurate experience
2-5 years of newsroom experience preferred
Strong computer organizational and communication skills in a fast-paced mobile environment.
Travel: Rarely: less than 10%
Work Environment: Office: normally performed in a typical interior/office environment
Physical Demands Set: Light work: Involves sitting most of the time walking lifting bending standing etc.
