Position Lead Avionics Technician (Widebody Aircraft / MRO)
The Lead Avionics Technician is responsible for performing and overseeing avionics maintenance troubleshooting installations and repairs on widebody aircraft in a maintenance repair and overhaul (MRO) environment. This role requires strong avionics systems knowledge leadership ability and experience supporting heavy maintenance operations. Military avionics experience will be considered.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform troubleshooting repair and installation of aircraft avionics and electrical systems
- Lead and support avionics technicians during maintenance and modification activities
- Read and interpret wiring diagrams schematics maintenance manuals and engineering documents
- Perform operational and functional testing of avionics systems and components
- Troubleshoot electrical discrepancies and determine corrective actions
- Install modify and repair aircraft wiring connectors and avionics components
- Ensure all work is completed in compliance with FAA regulations and company standards
- Support heavy maintenance and modification activities on widebody aircraft
- Assist in training and mentoring junior technicians
- Maintain accurate maintenance documentation and records
- Maintain a clean safe and organized work environment
- Other duties as assigned

Summary of Education Experience & Certification
High School diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum 4 years of avionics maintenance experience required
- Widebody aircraft experience required
- Military avionics experience considered
- Must be authorized to work in the United States
FAA A&P license or FCC license preferred but not required unless specified by program requirements.
Required Knowledge Skills & Abilities
- Strong knowledge of aircraft avionics and electrical systems
- Experience troubleshooting and repairing avionics systems on widebody aircraft
- Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams and technical documentation
- Experience performing avionics installations modifications and repairs
- Strong understanding of aircraft wiring practices and electrical troubleshooting
- Ability to work in a fast-paced MRO or heavy maintenance environment
- Leadership experience or ability to guide and support technicians
- Must provide own tools
- Ability to lift stand and work in various physical positions throughout the shift
