Schedule: Day Shift 4x10s (07:00 AM 05:30 PM)
Compensation
- Local Rate: $2200 $2400 weekly
- Travel Rate: $2700 $2900 weekly (including stipend)
Position Overview
Navitas Healthcare LLC is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for an outpatient infusion center specializing in oncology care. The RN will provide comprehensive infusion services including chemotherapy biotherapy and supportive treatments while ensuring safe administration and close monitoring of patient responses. This role requires strong clinical expertise in oncology infusion therapy and the ability to manage treatment-related complications in an outpatient setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer chemotherapy biotherapy and infusion therapies safely and accurately
- Manage IV therapy central venous lines ports and PICC lines
- Perform venipuncture IV insertion and infusion pump operations
- Monitor patients during and post-infusion for adverse reactions
- Identify and respond to oncologic emergencies (e.g. anaphylaxis sepsis tumor lysis syndrome)
- Handle and dispose of cytotoxic medications in compliance with safety protocols
- Review and interpret lab results and communicate abnormal findings
- Provide patient and family education regarding treatment plans and side effects
- Manage symptom control including nausea neuropathy and edema
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in electronic medical records (EMR/EPIC)
- Coordinate care for oncology and infusion patients within the care team
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of oncology or outpatient infusion nursing experience
- Strong proficiency in chemotherapy and infusion therapy administration
- Independent competency in central line PICC line and port management
- Experience managing infusion-related complications and emergencies
- Prior experience with EPIC EMR system required
Education & Licensure
- Graduate of an accredited Registered Nursing program
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in California (required at time of submission)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (AHA or ARC required)
- ONS/ONCC certification required
- Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) preferred
