Position Title: Business Technology Teacher (Grades 9-12)
Location: Leominster Public Schools
Reports To: Principal
Position Purpose
We are seeking a dedicated and forward-thinking Business Technology Teacher to prepare our students for the modern professional world. Under the direction of the Principal you will provide leadership in a 9th12th grade educational environment that encourages innovation and nurtures learning for all students. This role is vital in maintaining an efficient high-quality CTEI program through continuous student evaluation and curriculum improvement.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities
- Instructional Excellence: Deliver high-quality instruction to assigned students employing a variety of media and techniques to meet diverse learning needs.
- Classroom Leadership: Develop a safe productive and conducive learning environment; assist students in maintaining high standards of behavior and professional conduct.
- Collaborative Instruction: Work closely with a teaching partner to co-plan curriculum align instructional goals and ensure a seamless high-quality experience across the Business Technology department.
- Planning & Preparation: Prepare comprehensive lesson plans that align with district goals and provide written evidence of preparation as required.
- Student Growth: Evaluate student progress on a continuous basis maintaining accurate and complete records to inform students parents and administration.
- Safety & Compliance: Ensure the protection of students equipment and facilities while strictly enforcing school rules and board policies.
- Collaboration: Actively participate in faculty meetings professional development and the selection of instructional materials to ensure program success.
Knowledge & Skills:
- Expertise: Deep knowledge of modern business technology curriculum and effective classroom management techniques.
- Adaptability: Ability to adjust subject content to meet student needs and interests while managing multiple tasks under time pressure.
- Communication: Exceptional interpersonal skills; ability to maintain professional relationships with staff students parents and vendors.
- Mentorship: A passion for serving as a role model to a diverse student population showing enthusiasm for learning and high achievement.
Qualifications & Requirements
Education & Licensure:
- Certification: Must hold (or be eligible for) a Massachusetts Chapter 74 License (Preliminary or Professional Vocational Technical License) in Business Technology.
- Academic: Associates degree or higher in a field related to the subject matter.
- Testing: Passing scores on the Business Technology written and performance tests and a passing score on either the Vocational Technical Literacy Skills Test or the Communication and Literacy Skills Test.
Experience:
- A minimum of four (4) years of full-time professional employment experience directly related to the business technology field.
