For nearly 50 years we have addressed the complex needs of people who are disadvantaged by poverty and discrimination and have fallen through the cracks of mainstream systems of care. TITLE: Administrative Assistant

PROGRAM: Health Imperatives Sexual & Reproductive Health Services

HOURS: Fulltime Monday through Friday including some evenings

SALARY: $30/HR

Location: Wareham

BENEFITS: Medical dental holiday paid earned leave 403b etc.

OVERVIEW: Under the direct supervision of the Director of Sexual and Reproductive Health Services the Administrative Assistant plays a vital role in supporting clinic operations by providing front-office administrative and care coordination support. Responsibilities include:

  • Order medications vaccines contraceptive products medical supplies and office supplies
  • Reconcile medication packing slips and invoices weekly
  • Communicate with pharmacies and vendors regarding orders
  • Maintain documentation related to medication ordering and storage
  • Submit and track prior authorizations for medications procedures and services
  • Verify insurance eligibility and benefits
  • Communicate with insurers pharmacies and internal staff regarding status
  • Support patients in understanding insurance-related next steps
  • Process incoming and outgoing medical record requests in compliance with HIPAA
  • Request scan and upload outside medical records into the EHR
  • Provide coverage for medical receptionists on an as needed basis
  • Create claims in the absence of a practice manager
  • Maintain accurate and confidential documentation including contract data entry
  • Complete other administrative tasks including scanning filing faxing printing etc.
  • Other duties as assigned
Requirements

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: High School Diploma or GED; strong communication and organizational skills; proficiency in Microsoft Office; Demonstrated work in a collaborative team environment; flexibility and able to work successfully in a fast-paced results-oriented environment; must have a valid drivers license registration.


Physical Requirements: ability to lift and carry up to 20 pounds; ability to travel as needed in Southeastern Massachusetts


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Experience in medical settings; Familiarity with EHR systems; Bilingual and/or bicultural a plus.
