School-Based Contract Position
Contract Weeks: 43
- Monday to Friday
- 8:00 AM 3:30 PM
- 30-minute meal break
- Shift: 1
Big Spring Area (School Assignment)
Education & Certification Requirements:- Masters degree in Occupational Therapy (required)
- Valid U.S. Occupational Therapist license (state-issued)
- NBCOT certification (National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy)
- Experience in pediatric or school-based OT preferred
- Knowledge of special education services and IEP process preferred
- Provide occupational therapy services to students with disabilities or developmental delays
- Assess students motor sensory and functional abilities in the school setting
- Develop and implement individualized therapy plans (IEPs)
- Support students in improving fine motor skills handwriting self-care and classroom participation
- Work closely with teachers special education staff and parents
- Adapt classroom tasks and environments to support student accessibility
- Recommend assistive tools and adaptive equipment
- Monitor student progress and maintain detailed documentation and reports
- Participate in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary team discussions
- Ensure compliance with school policies and special education regulations
- Pediatric therapy expertise
- Strong communication and teamwork
- Knowledge of sensory integration techniques
- Ability to work in school-based environments
- Report writing and assessment skills
