Medical Oncologist
Key Responsibilities
Patient Diagnosis and Care: Examining pets managing a wide range of oncologic conditions and guiding clients through every step of diagnosis and treatment.
Treatment Planning: Developing individualized cancer treatment plans which may include chemotherapy immunotherapy and targeted therapies.
Multidisciplinary Collaboration: Working alongside board-certified veterinary surgeons internists and radiologists for comprehensive care.
Diagnostic Procedures: Utilizing advanced tools such as CT ultrasound digital radiography and in-house pathology for cancer staging.
Client Communication: Offering guidance and support to pet owners helping them make informed decisions regarding prognosis and treatment options.
Service Leadership: Contributing to the growth of the oncology service mentoring staff and fostering a collaborative team-first culture (C-PETS philosophy).
Qualifications: Board-Certified (DACVIM Oncology) or Residency-Trained.
Ideally seeking specialists with advanced training. Expertise in Canine/Feline Cancer: Strong clinical skills in diagnosing and treating common to complex tumors.
Compassionate Care: Ability to provide high-quality care with empathy.
