Job Summary

Position Summary

The Experienced / Certified Automotive Technician is responsible for performing advanced diagnostics repairs and maintenance services in accordance with manufacturer standards and Tom Wood quality expectations. This role is ideal for technicians who take pride in technical excellence efficiency and continuous improvement and who want longterm career growth within a respected dealer group.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform accurate diagnostics and complex mechanical and electrical repairs
  • Repair engines transmissions drive trains suspension steering brakes HVAC and electrical systems
  • Follow OEM repair procedures and dealership quality standards
  • Document all work performed clearly and accurately in the dealer management system
  • Maintain a clean organized and safe work environment
  • Communicate effectively with service advisors regarding repair findings and recommendations
  • Stay current on evolving vehicle technology through training and certification programs
  • Support shop efficiency by working collaboratively with teammates
  • Mentor or support junior technicians as needed

Qualifications

  • 3 years of handson automotive technician experience (preferred)
  • OEM certification(s) and/or ASE certifications strongly preferred
  • Proven diagnostic and troubleshooting ability
  • Experience with modern diagnostic tools and repair software
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality repairs
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fastpaced service environment
  • Valid drivers license with acceptable driving record
  • Commitment to professionalism teamwork and continuous learning

What Youll Do:

  • Conduct comprehensive vehicle inspections to identify potential issues early
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical problems with accuracy
  • Maintain detailed and accurate service documentation
  • Ensure a clean safe and organized work environment
  • Communicate effectively with service advisors and customers regarding repair needs and recommendations
  • Stay current with evolving automotive technologies tools and repair techniques
  • Deliver high-quality workmanship that meets or exceeds manufacturer standards

What Were Looking For:

  • Proven experience in automotive repair and maintenance
  • ASE certifications orOEM training preferred (not required)
  • Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced team-oriented environment
  • Familiarity with shop equipment (alignment systems tire machines diagnostic tools AC service equipment)
  • Valid drivers license with a clean driving record
