Position Summary
North Lawndale College Prep (NLCP) a high school committed to academic excellence and holistic student development is seeking a Grant Writer (Contractor $25$35/hour; weekly hours vary based on organizational needs) to manage a growing grant portfolio. This role will maintain 3050 active funder relationships and support the submission of approximately 100 proposals annually along with required reporting.
Reporting To: COO
Key Responsibilities
- Research and identify grant opportunities at the state and national levels including government and private funders.
- Develop write and submit high-quality grant proposals and reports aligned with organizational priorities and funder requirements.
- Manage the full grant lifecycle including tracking deadlines maintaining a grant calendar and ensuring timely submissions.
- Collaborate with the Development Associate and leadership team to gather content define project scope and align proposals with organizational goals.
- Maintain accurate records and manage grant-related data within the organizations database.
- Build and sustain strong relationships with funders including responding to inquiries and providing updates.
- Contribute grant-related content for external communications including newsletters blogs and social media.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in English Journalism Communications or a related field (Masters preferred).
- 25 years of grant writing experience with a strong track record of successful proposals.
- Knowledge of fundraising and proposal submission processes.
- Strong research writing organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines and handle confidential information with integrity.
- Proficiency with standard computer applications and database systems.

- Must be authorized to work in the U.S. and comply with all applicable policies and regulations.
