Solutions Engineer (fmd)

Your role

The Solution Engineer (f/m/d) supports technical design activities for commercial opportunities collaborating closely with Sales Engineering and Operations to ensure that customer solutions are effectively designed and successfully transitioned to delivery teams. Acting as the technical face of Digital Realty the role focuses on aligning solutions with customer requirements while supporting opportunities for upsell and strategic value in close partnership with Sales.

What you will do

Lead technical presales engagements in close partnership with Sales shaping solutions that support deal strategy pricing and successful closure
Own endtoend solution design from initial customer discussions through scope definition providing technical input into commercial alignment and handover to delivery teams

Design and position scalable data centre interconnection and network solutions including carrier diversity crossconnects and multisite architectures
Act as a technical advisor to customers translating ambiguous requirements into clear deliverable and commercially viable solutions
Focus on solution design for AIready highdensity colocation environments including power cooling and operational considerations

Drive upsell and expansion opportunities by aligning technical solutions with customer growth network evolution and AI roadmaps
Lead data centre tours customer workshops and technical presentations engaging confidently at both technical and executive level

What you will need

35 years of experience in data centres interconnection networking or a closely related environment
Strong handson knowledge of data centre architecture critical infrastructure and operational environments
Proven experience in a presales or solution engineering role partnering closely with Sales
Strong network and interconnection acumen with endtoend understanding of customer deployments
Experience or strong exposure to AI GPU or highdensity colocation environments; liquid cooling experience is a plus
Fluent in German and English
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence at technical operational and executive levels
Strong analytical skills and the ability to manage multiple opportunities in parallel under pressure
