Position Summary
The DPPS Information Technologist IV provides strategic leadership and handson technical expertise across critical infrastructure security and enterprise systems related to public safety functions. This role oversees the complex IT environment of the sole university law enforcement department supporting publicsafety operations physical security platforms and criminal justice technology services. The position ensures compliance with federal and state security standards drives operational excellence and advances a secure resilient and modern technology ideal candidate brings deep technical proficiency strong project leadership and the ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders across university administrative and academic units alliance with the central university IT Services unit and liaise with partner law enforcement agencies.
Minimum Requirements
Knowledge equivalent to that which normally would be acquired by completing a four-year college degree program in Computer Science Information Systems Business or a related information technology field with coursework in an information technology specialization related to Public Safety; and more than ten years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in systems administration and network management including experience overseeing large complex or critical information technology projects; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Demonstrated experience with and deep knowledge of FBI Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) Security Policy 6.0 including compliance auditing and operational controls.
- Handson administration of HPE Alletra disaggregated HCI systems running VMware vSphere ESXi and vCenter including environments utilizing HPE Cumulus NOS.
- Operational experience with enterprise security and monitoring platforms including:
- Palo Alto XDR
- ESET Endpoint Protection
- Fortra Alert Logic
- Infoblox DDI
- Current certification in Genetec Synergis and/or Genetec Omnicast physical security software platforms.

- Veeam for backup replication and disaster recovery
- Cisco Meraki wired and wireless networking hardware and cloud-managed software
- Absolute Secure Access (mobile VPN) and Cradlepoint NetCloud for secure remote connectivity
- Duo MFA BeyondTrust and Netwrix Directory Manager for identity access and privileged account management
- Tracy Time Ultra Time for timekeeping systemsT2 Systems Flex and FlexPort platforms for parking and access management
