Job Summary
Position Summary:
Thompson Engineering is seeking a dynamic and forward-thinking Construction Materials Testing (CMT) Practice Leader to drive technical excellence strategic growth and innovation across the organization. This role is responsible for shaping the direction of the CMT practice strengthening market position and aligning operational performance with long-term business objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and sustain Thompson Engineering as a market-leading organization through comprehensive client and market analysis strong technical governance innovation initiatives and project management excellence.
- Anticipate industry trends complex challenges and emerging opportunities; contribute to and help implement strategic initiatives that support long-term business goals. Collaborate closely with Business Unit Leaders and executive leadership including the Chief Revenue Officer Chief Operating Officer Chief Transformation Officer and Chief Executive Officer.
- Clearly communicate the CMT Practice strategy and its alignment with the companys mission vision and values; define actionable steps and inspire teams to achieve business and operational goals.
- Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in areas such as technology policy regulation and operational management within the CMT Practice. Maintain a deep understanding of evolving technologies regulatory environments and industry best practices through ongoing professional development and industry engagement.
- Lead and implement innovative change management initiatives that drive measurable outcomes and support the companys broader strategic vision.
- Build and strengthen technical capabilities and operational excellence within the CMT Practice. Mentor and develop staff promote continuous learning and increase awareness of tools resources and best practices across the organization.
- Establish and manage strategic internal and external partnerships connecting cross-functional teams with industry innovators and stakeholders. Support market research initiatives within the innovation space and ensure insights are effectively communicated to key decision-makers.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering Construction Management or a related field (Masters degree preferred).
- Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
- 10 years of experience in construction materials testing geotechnical engineering or related disciplines.
- Demonstrated leadership experience with a strong track record in strategic planning and execution.
- Deep knowledge of industry standards regulations and emerging technologies.
- Proven ability to lead change foster innovation and build high-performing teams.
- Excellent communication collaboration and stakeholder engagement skills.
