Electrician (WRAFB)

GENERAL JOB SUMMARY: The Electrician shall be responsible for performing a variety of electrical trade functions such as the installation maintenance or repair of equipment for the generation distribution or utilization of electric energy.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Installation and repair of a variety of electrical equipment such as generators transformers switchboards controllers circuit breakers motors heating units conduit systems or other transmission equipment.
• Perform work from drawings layouts blueprints or other specifications.
• Test electrical currents or components for continuity using electrical test equipment.
• Inspect and test systems to verify system compliance with plans and specifications or to detect and locate malfunctions.
• Must be proficient in bending and installing conduit.
• Comply with all applicable standards policies and procedures including safety procedures.
• Maintain the general cleanliness and appearance of assigned spaces.
• Assist others as part of the maintenance team as required.
• May be expected on occasion to respond to after-hour emergency calls.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

• High school diploma or equivalent General Educational Development (GED) certificate.
• Must maintain a Georgia Journeyman or higher license.
• Seven (7) years of related experience with facility electrical systems maintenance functions environmental factors and related procedures.
• Must have knowledge of standard computations relating to load requirements of wiring or electrical equipment.
• Must have knowledge of equipment materials methods practices and tools used in the electrical field.
• Must have a working knowledge of and comply with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations.
• Must be a self-starter team player detail oriented and possess strong organizational skills.
• Must possess a valid drivers license and driving history must meet company standards throughout employment.
• Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening and a background check as a condition of employment and to obtain access to federal installations.
