A professional internship-level role in engineering. Applies foundational and theoretical knowledge from degree-level studies (or equivalent) to support tasks of limited scope and complexity under close supervision. Supports the delivery of engineering work for internal and external clients contributing to project outcomes by following established standards and processes. Focuses on building practical experience and understanding of engineering practices in a real-world consulting environment.

Responsibilities

  • Contract Management: Carry out a range of contract management tasks.
  • Data Collection and Analysis: Produce accurate reports for others by collecting data from a variety of standard sources and inputting it into standard formats.
  • Engineering Inspections: Provide technical support to inspections of the quality of engineering works and/or the integrity of existing installations or structures and the remedial works needed in accordance with organizational standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Engineering Solutions Design: Implement feasibility testing of proposed engineering solutions under supervision to provide feedback and contribute to validation of the design.
  • Health Safety and Environment: Follow the organizations health safety and environment (HSE) policies procedures and mandatory instructions to identify and mitigate risks and to safeguard the environment and the well-being of self and others.
  • Improvement/Innovation: Support others by implementing improvements and carrying out simple change management tasks.
  • Knowledge Management System: Carry out simple knowledge management tasks by following established procedures in order to support others.
  • Personal Capability Building: Develop and maintain excellent process or technical skills by participating in assessment and development planning activities as well as formal and informal training and coaching.
  • Product and Solution Development: Support others by carrying out a range of product development and engineering activities such as analyzing client situations or interpreting data.
  • Technical Troubleshooting: Conduct routine tasks in technical troubleshooting which include basic diagnostic and simple problem-solving tasks related to equipment and experiments.
