The Product Service Engineer supports GE Vernovas global Gas Power fleet by providing technical leadership and resolution for field issues involving generator and electrical systems. This role focuses on investigating complex technical problems driving timely engineering responses and partnering across functions to improve product reliability and customer outcomes.Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities
- Provide technical support and resolution for generator and electrical system issues affecting the global installed fleet.
- Lead and support investigations into complex field issues determining root cause and recommending corrective actions.
- Respond to Engineering Requests (ERs) with urgency accuracy and strong technical judgment.
- Identify recurring issues and support development of fleet-wide countermeasures to improve reliability and reduce risk.
- Collaborate with Design Engineering Product Management Regional Customer Support Engineering Manufacturing and Sourcing to align on technical solutions.
- Develop and communicate technical guidance through internal and external communication channels such as TILs ETCs and customer presentations.
- Share technical expertise and lessons learned across the global Product Service organization.
- Support continuous improvement in technical response service processes and issue resolution methods.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline from an accredited institution.
- Experience with generator-related electrical systems such as excitation systems LCI protection systems terminal enclosures MV cells electrical auxiliaries and transformers.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
Eligibility Requirements
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required including on short notice.
- Willingness to support urgent issue resolution outside standard working hours including weekends when needed.
Desired Characteristics
- Gas Power Edison Engineer; Completion of LPX Teardown Training; Progress toward completion of Engineering Masters degree and/or ACE Certificate
