WDG Public Health is a hybrid work environment. Certain employee groups may be permitted to work remotely based on the nature of the position and program. A minimum expectation of onsite presence is required which will be dependent on operational needs.
The HR Assistant (Co-op) will support the Human Resources and Corporate Services Division specifically the Human Resources department in day-to-day administrative support.
Areas of Responsibility:
Recruitment and Selection: Support and lead aspects of the recruitment and selection process including posting job opportunities screening resumes and scheduling interviews.
E-file and Document Management: Organize maintain and update electronic files and records in compliance with organizational policies and legal requirements.
HR Project Support: Assist in planning coordinating and executing various HR-related projects including policy updates training programs and employee engagement initiatives.
System Utilization: Leverage various software and platforms (e.g. Sparkrock ERP Njoyn Applicant Tracking System REDCap Moodle Learning Management System) for HR functions and reporting.
Training Course Creation: Utilize Moodle via our Learning Management System to create and update employee training.
Cross-Departmental Collaboration: Assist other departments within the division with shared tasks and special assignments as needed.
Other Duties as Assigned: Adapt to evolving responsibilities to meet the needs of the department and organization.
Hours of Work:
Regular office hours: Monday to Friday 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM

Requirements:
Current third or fourth year post-secondary or post-graduate students in an human resources or business program.
Students must be eligible for a 4-month or 8-month co-op placement as part of their academic program.
Previous co-op experience or relevant work experience preferred.
Preference will be given to students with completed courses in Human Resources or working toward their CHRP.
Work experience in an administrative support role preferred.
High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
Initiative and Problem solving skills.
High degree of comfort with computers able to adapt and learn computer programs quickly.
Strong Microsoft Office computer skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
