- Shift: Day Shift 3x12 Hours (07:00 19:00)
- Hours: 36 hours/week
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
- Holiday Requirement: Every other holiday (as needed)
- Orientation: 16 hours (Non-billable)
Position Overview
Navitas Healthcare LLC isseeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for a Medical Surgical unit in a high-acuity teaching hospital. This role involves managing complex patient cases including orthopedic overflow and long-term care patients while working collaboratively under RN supervision.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in a Med/Surg unit
- Administer medications IV therapy and blood products
- Perform central line PICC line and peripheral line care
- Monitor oxygen therapy tracheostomy care and respiratory support
- Assist with wound care surgical drains and telemetry monitoring
- Maintain accurate documentation using Epic EMR
- Respond to rapid response/code situations
- Float to other units based on skillset
Unit Details
- Unit: Complex Care / Med-Surg (Ortho overflow)
- Patient Ratio: 1:56
- Patient Population: Adult
- Specialty Exposure: MS/Tele Ortho Trauma Total Joint Replacement
Required Qualifications
- Active New York State LPN License (Required)
- Minimum recent acute care experience (within last 2 years)
- Epic EMR experience required
- Certifications: BLS (Required)
- Ability to take independent patient assignments under RN supervision
- Strong clinical skills in IV therapy telemetry wound care and respiratory support
