The Role: Floor Supervisor
Availability: Full-time with an ability to work mornings afternoons and occasional weekends and holidays.
Working alongside the Room Management team the Floor Supervisor oversees the daily activities for the production area and is responsible for ensuring staff are working safely while meeting production or distribution & fulfillment requirements. Train coach and motivate staff to ensure good morale as well as a high level of productivity. Maintain accurate staffing levels to meet department needs. What You Do (Responsibilities):
- Supervise a team of floor staff potentially exceeding 50 staff
- Oversee that best practices quality standards and health and safety procedures are adhered to and address any areas of concern to management
- Supports new or returning staff as required with onboarding demonstrations of daily duties and responsibilities while ensuring safety and SOP guidelines are being followed
- Report and document workplace incidents to management
- Organize assign and delegate daily tasks activities and workflow to the team leaders
- Participate in reviewing and developing department standard operating procedures
- Oversee and monitor the pace of production picking packing shipping and receiving
- Complete and ensure documentation of pre-shift checklists
- Ensure a high level of motivation through coaching and feedback to the team leaders
- Escalate significant performance issues to the room management team
- Ensure smooth communication between shifts
- Determine and facilitate what training is required for floor staff
- Participate in performance discussions in partnership with room management
- Support recruitment initiatives and oversee staff attendance punctuality and break periods
- Support payroll entry and timecard verifications
- Review weekly production plan and/or orders & deliveries to determine staff requirements and create a weekly work schedule
- Maintain the highest level of product fulfillment possible
- Support DEIB initiatives and communication
- Host daily huddles and meetings as required
Who You Are (Qualifications):
:
- Current Lush employee has held their current role successfully for one year
- General understanding of manufacturing/warehouse operations (i.e. routings/metrics compounding production lines processes)
- Flexibility to work within the Distribution Digital and Manufacturing businesses as required
- Confident with basic mathematics ability to count including addition and subtraction
- Proven track record in training coaching and developing employees
- Knowledge of Employment Standards and Occupational Health and Safety standards
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
- Exceptional organizational skills
- Reliable consistent attendance punctual and dependable
- Able to provide and receive feedback
- Commitment to abide by and oversee health & safety regulations
- Commitment to abide by and oversee our quality and good manufacturing practices
- Familiar with production room Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)/Production Measurements (i.e. targets PPH)
- Able to navigate email MS Office Suite and Google programs (i.e. Sheets Chat Meet)
- Accustomed to working in a highly seasonal high-pressure environment
- Comfortable with reading writing and speaking English to communicate with peers and leadership on all platforms (i.e. in person via email via Google/Teams chat)
- Able to do physical work for 8-hour shifts be on your feet either standing or walking throughout the shift and feel able to lift up to 50 pounds without any restrictions
- Capable of completing physical activities such as bending down pulling and pushing throughout the shift without any restrictions
Preferred:
- Experience working at Lush Cosmetics preferably in Manufacturing/Distribution
- Experience as a Lush Team Leader/Trainer (seasonal or core)
- Experience as a Lush Floor Supervisor (seasonal or core)
- Experience working in a variety of rooms and departments within Lush Cosmetics
- Previous experience working as a Team Leader or Floor Supervisor
- Capable of performing basic payroll functions
- Proficiency with using ERP/MRP systems (such as AX OMS D365)
- Comfortable with presenting and public speaking
- Experience in cosmetics pharmaceuticals manufacturing warehousing supply chain and/or food industries
- Knowledge of mechanical equipment and processes
- Experience in providing reports and completing other administrative tasks
- Flexible to work mornings afternoons weekends holidays and occasional overtime as needed
