Job Summary

Health Affiliates Maine is accepting applicants for a Veterans Program and Case Management Clinical Supervisor to join their team. This is a full-time Salaried position.


Clinical Supervisor:

  • Provide ongoing individual and group clinical support/supervision/consultation to case managers via phone video platform and e-mail weekly as required.
  • Use the NASW (National Association of Social Workers) Code of Ethics MHRT/c Code of conduct and ethical codes pertaining to the role as well as applicable laws and policies to help resolve ethical dilemmas.
  • Inspire supervisee engagement in work activities through participation in employee recognition staff development goal setting team-building activities and by providing ongoing recognition of their key role in achieving our agencys mission.
  • Collaborate with the Administrative Supervisor follow all agency discharge and transfer policies and procedures including arranging back-up coverage for client(s) when applicable providing client communication and monitoring for clinical appropriateness of discharge and transfer.
  • Provide diagnostic assessments for adults via telehealth.
  • Have a working knowledge of the population served by the case management department including applicable MaineCare Contracting Fox and Licensing regulations/requirements.
  • Review and approve supervisees client charts for clinical documentation quality assurance licensing MaineCare and contractual compliance. (Clinical audits are completed annually for each Per Diem supervisee minimally).
  • Write section 17 letters for clients that qualify for Section 17 services as needed.
  • Provide support to staff to develop the skills needed to engage clients in completing necessary paperwork to maintain services.
  • Evaluate each supervisees performance and provide formal feedback to supervises at intervals set by the agencys practices and procedures.
  • Implement progressive discipline measures with supervisees as determined by all applicable agency procedures.
  • Understand BHH requirements to provide clinical coverage as needed to BHH Team.
  • Function as agency liaison and representative to the community in relation to the case management department as needed.
  • Be prepared for and actively participate in Department staff meetings and individual supervision with the Assistant Director/(Clinical Lead Supervisor).
  • Promote HAM (Health Affiliates Maine) visibility through attendance of community events and meetings as part of the agency and department marketing plan.
  • Protect and maintain the confidentiality of client records and information following HIPAA HITECH regulations and 42 CFR.
  • Understand the CURES act and ensure that documents are shared with youth/guardians according to CURES policies and procedures.
  • Log/Maintain records of employee interactions and complete other forms paperwork when necessary (e.g. supervision logs progress notes incident reports etc.).
  • Attend and participate in clinical and administrative supervision and training as prescribed by your licensing and Health Affiliates Maine.
  • Have knowledge of the Rights of Recipients of Mental Health Services and the AMHI Consent Decree.
  • Practice a trauma-informed approach to care including maintaining a calm non-defensive attitude to de-escalate crisis situations encouraging the health safety and welfare of clients and ensuring self-determination.
  • Understand the utilization review and referral processes for support supervisees in working to resolve client related issues.
  • Provide clinical office phone coverage as scheduled (rotating schedule) to support callers that may be experiencing crisis beyond the scope of the reception and referral department and to be available for critical incident/reportable and general department coverage during business hours.
  • Follow and periodically update a personal plan of self-care to prevent compassion fatigue vicarious traumatization and maintain ethical and professional conduct & reaching out for supervision when recognizing self-care concerns.
  • Participate in mandated reporting per agency policy and Maine Law including the review and submission of critical incident reportable events and DA reports.
  • Perform other duties related to the position as directed by the Management Team.

Role Specific:

  • Provide clinical supervision for at least 18 - 20 full-time equivalent case managers ensuring minimum requirements are met and documented.
  • Assist leadership in the development and implementation of process and procedures related to the Veterans case management program.
  • Utilize and provide support to supervisees to follow applicable Veteran and Fox procedures.
  • Participate in Veteran focused training courses and events as requested by the Clinical/Assistant Director.
  • Understand and maintain knowledge of Veteran and military culture and how it impacts mental health suicide risk and interaction in the workplace.
  • Receive and maintain appropriate training to develop and maintain a high level of comfort with Veteran suicide risk assessment/screening.
  • Facilitate Veterans clinical case reviews and co-facilitate administrative meetings/trainings with Administrative Supervisor.
  • Collaborate with Fox team as applicable.
  • Participate in and facilitate CM and Veterans program orientation as needed.
  • Maintain positive and collaborative relationships with the Department of Health and Human Services Bureau of Veterans Services and other agencies/providers.

Requirements

Minimum Education/Experience Qualifications:

  • Have independent masters level licensure/LCSW (Licensed Clinical Social Worker) or LCPC (Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor) preferred
  • At least 5 years of clinical experience
  • Experience or training with the Veterans population
