Strategy Development Manager

To accelerate this growth we are looking for a Strategy Development Manager to strengthen our commercial capabilities. Together with 400 colleagues from over 45 nationalities spread across 10 countries we drive change in the energy transition. We have been awarded Best Charging Network in the UK France Switzerland and the Netherlands further establishing Fastned as a leading player in the field.

What youll do

As Strategy Development Manager you help develop Fastneds medium- to long-term strategy working closely with leadership and functional teams across the company. You do this as part of a small high-impact Strategy team alongside the VP Strategy and the Director of Strategy with direct exposure to the Board.

Your work is hands-on and collaborative. Rather than producing strategy from a distance you are embedded in the process: working with country teams functional leaders and other stakeholders to develop strategies evaluate options make recommendations and support implementation. You help leadership and teams think through their most important strategic questions and make sure the answers are grounded in solid analysis and clear reasoning.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Shape strategy with the business Work side by side with country directors functional leaders and their teams to develop strategies for Fastneds most important challenges and opportunities; from problem framing through analysis and option development to recommendations.

• Sharpen the long-term vision and narrative Contribute to Fastneds strategic story: translating Board direction and outside-in insights into a clear narrative that resonates across the organisation.

• Analyse markets and technologies Conduct structured analysis on upcoming technologies customer segments competitive dynamics and market developments and distill what these mean for Fastned.

• Be a rigorous sparring partner Challenge assumptions surface blind spots and pressure-test reasoning in Board discussions as well as in working sessions with the business.

• Make strategy land not just land on paper Not only communicate our strategic direction but also help functions and country teams translate into executable plans: clarifying deliverables scope dependencies and trade-offs.

• Surface misalignment across the organisation Keep an eye on how strategies across departments and countries connect. Where you spot gaps or contradictions flag them to leadership so they can be addressed. You are the early-warning system not the one who has to resolve every misalignment yourself.

• Own the customer experience agenda Take ownership of customer experience as a cross-departmental strategic pillar ensuring it is embedded and progressed across the organisation.

Who are we looking for

You see the world clearly question the logic behind things and know how to bring people with you. You are as comfortable in a Board-level discussion as in a working session with a (country) team and you leave both conversations having moved something forward.

You bring:

• 5 years of experience in strategy consulting corporate strategy an MBA or a comparable analytical/strategic role.

• First-principles thinking. You do not take requests at face value. You question whether the question itself is the right one not just the answer.

• Analytical strength. You break down complex problems form hypotheses and draw clear conclusions.

• Collaborative style. You build strategy with people not for them

• Stakeholder and facilitation skills. You are comfortable working with a wide range of stakeholders (country teams functional leaders analysts external experts and Board members) and know how to get the best out of a room. You ensure strategy is owned and make leaders feel that theyre in the lead.

• Storytelling. You have strong written and verbal communication; you simplify without dumbing down.

• Drive and ownership. You are proactive assertive and comfortable taking a topic from problem framing to proposed solution.

• Affinity with our mission. You are genuinely interested in energy transition mobility and building infrastructure that matters.

• Fluency in English is required; additional European languages are a plus.
