Pastoral Support Primary Tutor (Maths and English) with SEN Experience

Make a Real Impact as a Pastoral Maths and English Tutor.

Are you a passionate educator making a difference in the lives of students with SEN and SEMH needs We are looking for experienced and dedicated tutors wholl provide personalised 1:1 or group support with a focus on Maths and English alongside incorporating physical activity through tennis and football for KS3 students. This role involves working with young people who may present with challenging behaviour as well as social emotional and learning needs. These in-person sessions in Hackney offer the chance to work closely with students helping them build skills and confidence in a supportive and tailored learning environment.

• This job is in person in the Hackney area
• Hour(s): Up to 9 hours per week with the potential to increase to 15 hours
• Available Day(s) and Time(s): Tuesday - Thursday 10am - 1pm
• Subject and Level: KS1 Maths and English
• Start date: Immediate
• Rate of pay: 35.00 p/h

What Youll Do

• Provide tuition that is appropriate for the individuals/groups needs and study level.
• Plan engaging lessons tailored to the unique needs of each student.
• Provide targeted support for students.
• Assess barriers to learning and create a positive and supportive learning environment.
• Monitor progress produce reports and adapt teaching strategies to achieve measurable outcomes.
• Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of the curriculum content and qualification frameworks youre providing subject tuition in.
• Regularly reporting updates to the Tuition Programmes Manager.

Were looking for someone who has:

• A Bachelors degree or formal SEN/ADHD training or qualification
• 2 years of tutoring / teaching experience
• Experience working with students with ADHD
• Experience with challenging behaviour
• Confident in using positive behaviour management strategies
• An ability to adapt lessons to suit different learning styles and needs.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• The right to be self employed in the UK.
