- Accurately and efficiently prepare portion cook and present a variety of hot and cold food items for multiple meal periods throughout the day
- Follow recipes precisely and independently while maintaining consistency in food quality and presentation standards
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and effectively adhering to all manufacturer guidelines and safety protocols
- Maintain a clean organized and sanitary work station and kitchen environment in compliance with health and safety regulations
- Accommodate diverse dietary requirements and restrictions while ensuring all meals meet nutritional and quality standards
- Collaborate with kitchen team members and other departments to ensure smooth operations and timely meal service
- Manage time effectively to meet meal preparation deadlines while maintaining high-quality output
- Assist with inventory management and food storage
- Demonstrate flexibility and willingness to adapt to changing menu items special events and operational needs
- Continuously seek opportunities to learn new cooking techniques and improve culinary skills

Qualifications :
**Required Education & Certifications:**
- High School diploma GED or equivalent
- Food Handlers Certificate or equivalent food safety certification
**Required Experience:**
- Minimum 2 years of related food preparation or cooking experience in a professional kitchen setting
**Required Skills & Competencies:**
- Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques and cooking methods
- Proficiency with standard kitchen equipment and tools
- Ability to read understand and follow recipes independently and accurately
- Basic computer skills for kitchen management systems
- Excellent time management and multitasking abilities
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on food quality and consistency
- Professional communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment
- Physical capability to stand for extended periods (up to 12 hours) lift up to 35 pounds regularly and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds
- Flexibility to work varying schedules including evenings weekends and holidays as business needs dictate
**Preferred Qualifications:**
- Experience with batch cooking or high-volume food preparation
- Knowledge of dietary restrictions and specialized meal preparation
- Familiarity with food cost management and portion control
- Experience in healthcare hospitality or catering environments
- Culinary training or certification from a recognized institution
