Educational Diagnostician
Qualifications: Special Education Teacher CertificationSchool Psychologist Certification orSpeech/Language Pathologist Certification
Must have working knowledge of the requirements of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Improvement Act.
A minimum of five years experience in administering scoring and interpreting educational psychological and/or communication assessments.
Reports to: Director of Special Education
Supervises: N/A
Job Goal: The diagnostician will conduct appropriate educational assessments and
provide information which will assist in determining a students strengths and challenges which can be used in educational planning.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Administer and score screening instruments standardized tests and criterion referenced instruments.
2. Conduct behavioral observations as specified in the evaluation plan for each student.
3. Interpret and report information gathered during evaluations and observations.
4. Provide written input and recommendations for the Admissions and Release Committee to consider regarding the development of the Individual Education Programs.
5. Models non-discriminatory practices in all activities.
6. Communicates effectively with students and school staff.
7. Maintains and respects confidentiality of student and school personnel information.
8. Perform other duties as specified by the Director of Special Education.
