Compensation plans are based on a multi-step progression system. The pay range reflects the entry level and maximum salary potential in the assigned pay grade.

Nature of Work

The fundamental reason this position exists is to perform administrative and operational duties in overseeing the daily operations of the Citys public safety departments. The employee is the Mayors designee on all public safety matters and serves as a liaison to other City departments outside government agencies and the community. The work responsibilities include overseeing activities of the public safety departments; developing short- and long-range plans; receiving and handling complaints and requests from the public; working on special projects events and programs; and supervising employees to include the Police Chief Fire Chief Emergency Management Agency Director and the Director of Emergency Communications. This position reports directly to the Mayor.

Minimum Qualifications

A Bachelors Degree in Criminal Justice Public Administration or a related field and at least five (5) years of executive-level experience in a public safety or military organization to include policy and procedure development and administration.
