ABOUT THE ROLE
Reporting to the Manager HRMS is responsible for providing on-going data integrity security and reporting of the PeopleSoft Human Resource Management System (HRMS) while ensuring the goals objectives and business needs of the Human Resource Services Branch (HRS) and the Region are met; participating in development testing reporting troubleshooting and projects; liaising with Information Technology Services Branch (ITS) and system users.
WHAT YOULL BE DOING
- Assists users to resolve functional problems in PeopleSoft HRMS as directed.
- Participates on project teams; support systems development preparation of user requirement definitions systems analysis design documents develop prototyping implementation and training.
- Promotes the HRMS strategic vision and concept throughout the Region to provide operating managers with an understanding of the HRMS and its benefits; promotes standardization of business and administrative practices as they relate to HRMS; communicates information to Regional employees with respect to new release information and functionality.
- Consults with end user clients to ensure user needs are met and problems are addressed promptly through on-going dialogue and communication.
- Liaises with Payroll and ITS staff as required to resolve issues as required.
- Performs other duties as assigned in accordance with Branch and Department objectives.
- Creates standardized and customized ad hoc HR reports using HRMS query tools and report scheduling for responding to reporting needs; analyzes reporting needs of HRS and operating Departments and develops reports in response.
- Participates on Project Team for implementation of new PeopleSoft upgrades and/or functionality (e.g. Workflow self-service Time and Labour etc); designs test scripts conducts testing and evaluates HRMS enhancements and upgrades and makes recommendations to the Information Technology Services Branch (ITS) and HRS management from a functional perspective.
WHAT WERE LOOKING FOR
- Successful completion of a Community College Diploma in Business Administration Systems Administration or related program or approved equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum three (3) years experience in a Human Resource Management System (HRMS) and functional system analysis preferably in an ERP environment.
- Well developed understanding of PeopleSoft HRMS software and functionality including working knowledge of relational databases and table structures.
- Working knowledge of HR policies and procedures related legislation and collective agreements required to understand impact and implications to HRMS.
- Knowledge of and demonstrated ability in corporate core competencies including customer service communication team work initiative/self management accountability flexibility and adaptability.
- Consultation skills to determine requirements from requesters/users.
- Computer literacy utilizing MS Office software applications with intermediate proficiency in Spreadsheet and Access applications and basic understanding of computer hardware and peripherals.
- Good communication skills to explain procedures and processes as they relate to the HRMS to end-users.
