Prioritizes and assigns tasks to accommodate shifting demands and resource pressures. Confirms work documentation in the electronic record. Approves incident reports. Conducts shift briefings to ensureaccuratecommunication and handoff.
Coordinates emergency response planning and practice with other Departments and Units.Ensuresthat after action reviewsaccomplishedand documented.
Provides liaison with community police fire and government officials.Conductsmajor investigationsrelativeto accidents thefts injuries and other incidents.Conducts investigation/reviews of situations that require athreatassessment.
Performs administrative requirements. Responsible for KRA results; provides input to and implements the budget administers policies and procedures conducts inspections and audits to identify vulnerabilities and hazards; corrects deficiencies identified by third party inspections audits and regulatory surveys; meets state and federal compliance regulations (e.g. DNV Environment of Care chapter of the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Health Care Organizations CMS OSHA etc.).
Maintains current Department training standards in radio communications verbal de-escalation stabilization CPR application of clinical restraints conducted energy weapon (Taser) to include training on any/all department-issued equipment and/or requirementsidentifiedin the Annual Training Plan.
Performs human resources responsibilities for staff which includes coaching on performance completes performance reviews and overall staff morale. Recommends hiring compensation changes promotions corrective action decisions and terminations.
Responsible for understanding and adhering to the organizations Code of Ethical Conduct and for ensuring that personal actions and the actions of employees supervisedcomply withthe policies regulations and laws applicable to the organizations business.
Licensure Registration and/or Certification Required:
Security Officer Healthcare Certification (CHSO) issued by the International Association for Healthcare Security and Safety (IAHSS) must be obtained on a one-time basis within two years of appointment to this role. Recertification is not.
For North Carolina teammates an Armed Guard License issued by NC Private Protective Services must be obtained within1year andmaintainedthrough training and competency assessments.
NIMS Compliance Certification
Firearm Owners Identification (FOID) Card issued by the Illinois State Police or Concealed Carry Weapon (CCW) license issued by the Department of Justice (DOJ).
Must meet State of IL Department of Financial and Professional Regulation licensing requirements andableto obtain a Firearm Control Card (FCC) for Proprietary Personnel within90 daysof hire.
Stop the Bleed Certification
A valid drivers license issued by the Division of Motor Vehicle.
Certified in Conducted Energy Weapon (e.g.TASER) use within90 daysof hire and periodically thereafter.
Education Required:
Associates degree in criminal justiceor related field isor obtained within and approved and agreed upontimeframe.
Experience Required:
Typically requires5yearsof experience in a security related public safety or customer service area that includesexperiencesin responding to emergent situations andidentifyingand resolvingcomplexissues that pose a potential risk to patients visitorsteammatesand/or property.3 years of experienceas a lead officer.

Illinois team members must have completedStateof Illinois 20-hour Basic Security Officer course with semi-automatic pistol endorsement.
Willingness to carry a department authorized firearm while on duty.The firearm and level III holster must bepurchasedupon hire supplied andmaintainedby the Officer as outlined in the Public Safety Firearms Policy and approved by theDepartmentRange Masters.
Required annually to achieve a passing score of 70% or greater on the State of IL Mandatory Annual Active Duty and Retired Officer Handgun Qualification Course of Fire un-assisted.Probationary Officers must completerangequalificationwithin their 90-day probationary period and must attend the first qualification date within their probationary period.
Demonstrated ability to exercise mature judgment and sound reasoning whilemaintaininga courteous and tactful demeanor in dealings withteammates visitors and patients even if they are verbally aggressivepersons.
Demonstrated experience in quickly assessing dangerous situations and takingappropriate action.
Demonstrated ability in verbal and written communications.
Ability to use a computer to document work (e.g.Microsoft Word Excel navigating a web page and database entry).
Maintains strong awareness of street drugs gang activity and human trafficking.
Ability to defendself-and/orothers in case of physical confrontations when de-escalation efforts fail and there is cause tophysically restrain a person against their will who isnon-compliantandcommitting a criminal act orlacks capacity and isattemptingto elope.
Ability to communicate effectively with people; ability to hear radio and telephone communications at both high and low decibels.
Ability to communicate via radio and telephone with clear diction without impediments.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
Must sit stand walk and drive throughout the workdayand mustlift upto 35 lbs. occasionally. Must be able to push/pull with 35 lbs. of force.
Mustpossessthe handstrength dexterity and ability to safelyoperatea firearm.Must perform all functions of operating loading/un-loading breaking down and cleaning a firearm un-assisted and withoutassistdevices.
Have 20/20 vision in both eyesorcorrectable to 20/20 with corrective lenses in both eyes.
May be exposed to mechanical electrical chemical explosive and radiation hazards. Protective clothing must bewornas necessary.
Operates allequipmentnecessary to perform the job.
Frequent exposure to aggressive behavior and emotionally charged situations.
Must be able to handle personal stress andpossible violence.
Must be physically fit and able to walk all areas of the facilities and grounds to restrain those who need restraint and be able toassistclinical teammateswith lifting patients of all sizes.
