The Senior Manager Business Excellence is a key member of the Site Leadership Team (SLT) responsible for driving operational performance through Practical Process Improvement (PPI) site communications and training program compliance. This role leads the sites PPI project portfolio ensures delivery of value capture targets and oversees execution of communication strategies that drive engagement and alignment across all levels of the organization.
The position combines strategic leadership with operational execution requiring strong cross-functional influence disciplined follow-through and ownership of critical performance metrics.
A Day in the Life:
Key Responsibilities
PPI Oversight & Value Delivery
Lead the sites PPI program including prioritization governance and execution of the project portfolio
Partner with SLT to identify prioritize and advance high-impact improvement initiatives
Own and track value capture ensuring alignment to annual targets and accuracy of reported results
Establish accountability with project owners and functional leaders to drive execution and results
Monitor portfolio health identify risks and implement corrective actions as needed
Training Program Oversight
Ensure compliance with site training requirements in alignment with cGMP and regulatory standards
Oversee training systems and processes including Learning Management System (LMS) performance and reporting
Drive reduction in training delinquency through proactive monitoring and escalation
Partner with functional leaders to ensure training effectiveness and completion
Site Communications Strategy
Develop and execute site-wide communication strategies that support engagement alignment and business priorities
Oversee communication platforms and channels to ensure consistent timely and effective messaging
Partner with leadership to translate business objectives into clear actionable communications for all levels of the organization
Continuously assess and improve communication effectiveness across the site
Data Reporting & Governance
Own site-level reporting for PPI training and engagement metrics
Ensure accuracy consistency and integrity of data across systems and reporting tools
Drive visibility of key performance indicators to leadership through dashboards and regular updates
Utilize data to identify trends gaps and opportunities for improvement
Leadership & Team Development
Lead and develop a team of direct reports responsible for execution of training communication and program support activities
Provide clear direction coaching and accountability to ensure high performance and continuous development
Foster a culture of ownership accountability and continuous improvement within the team
Cross-Functional Leadership & Influence
Serve as a member of the SLT contributing to strategic planning and decision-making
Influence leaders managers and frontline supervisors to drive engagement accountability and execution of site initiatives
Build strong partnerships across functions to ensure alignment and successful delivery of business objectives
Proactively follow up on commitments remove barriers and ensure progress across initiatives
Keys to Success:
Education
BS Degree required. Preferred Fields of Study: Engineering Science Business Operations or related field.
Advanced Degree highly preferred.
Six Sigma Black Belt and/or Lean certification preferred.
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification a plus.
Experience
Advanced Degree plus 4 years of experience or bachelors degree plus 6-8 years of experience in lean leadership implementing continuous improvement initiatives required.
Demonstrated experience in process improvement (Lean Six Sigma or equivalent)
Experience in regulated industry (e.g. life sciences medical devices) preferred.
Demonstrated experience developing and deploying PPI/lean tools including Strategy deployment and value stream mapping.
Knowledge Skills Abilities
