Job Description:
L3Harris Technologies is looking for a Field Technician for the Companys Field Services organization supporting the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). This role will be responsible for field support in the ZLC Airspace. The Field Technician will support FAA contracts for FTI ADSB DCNS and any other Field Services programs as required.
Essential Functions:
- This is a support level position requiring a thorough knowledge of theinstallation maintenance and repair of telecommunications related systems and/or equipment gained through formal education or fromconsiderable and varied experience in working with the installationservice activation maintenance and repair of telecommunication systemsand devices.
- Responsiblefor the installation repair configuration test and preventativemaintenance of network equipment telecommunications equipment and/or computers.
- Proficientin Microsoft or UNIX operating systems and the components of the MSOffice Suite. Maintains records on repairs down time changes andupdates.
- Good working knowledge of cable connectors and replacement such as RJ-11 RJ-45 DB-25 V.35 RS-449
- Working knowledge of fiber working knowledge of Multiplexes Network topology Frame Relay Fractional T-1 SONET Network Technology ATM Private Line Voice and Data applications
- Goodworking knowledge of power testing AD and DC including 3 Phase AC. Familiar with configuration and operation of the 24VDC & 48 VDC powersupplies.
- Network and circuit testing with T1 Testing Specifications DS3 Testing Digital Testing (BERT) and Analog VG Testing within Bell Core Standards.
- Use various network test equipment: JDSU HST Ameritech AM5XT Sage 935 Digital Oscilloscope Halcyon 704A Para-scope or other T1/DS3 Test sets.
- Perform basic software troubleshooting and diagnostics
- Serveas the point of contact for unresolved problems from the Help Desk or NOC.
- Installhardware and software including operating system and office applications
- Responsiblefor providing computer hardware software and network technical support to end-users
- Assists with setup and configuration of system hardware and software.
- Capable of lifting 70 pounds
- Travel (up to 100% of the time) to remote sites within a 4-hour drive circle of base location. Technicians may be asked to travel outside of their assigned region as needed.
- Utilize ladders and step stools to reach heights of approx. 10 feet
- Ability to work outside regularly scheduled hours to meet operational needs and to respond to after-hours emergency calls as required.
- Possess and maintain a valid Drivers License and/or local US State REAL ID equivalent and a satisfactory driving record.
- Ability to obtain a U.S. Government Security Clearance
Qualifications:
- Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 6 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Network CCNA CCNP CCNA Wireless A
- Excellentcustomer service skills.
- Ability to work in high stress and visibility environment.
