We are looking for an Account Manager to join the team at Mainfreight Whanganui.

As part of our Sales team you will be responsible for managing key branch accounts. While there will be a strong focus on adding value and retaining our existing customers you will also have a new business target to ensure we are maximising every opportunity. If you are hungry to get on the road back yourself and hunt new business this role is for you.

At Mainfreight Whanganui we truly own our patch. As a smaller branch youll be exposed to far more than just sales. Youll work across the full depot and supply chain gaining hands-on experience with wharf operations warehousing domestic transport and both air and ocean freight. This gives you a rare opportunity to deepen your supply chain knowledge while building strong long-term customer partnerships and retaining customers who genuinely value local ownership.

Working within a close-knit team environment the successful applicant will be committed to growing existing customer relationships while helping to build a dynamic and successful sales culture.

Primary duties include:

  • Managing significant branch customer relationships
  • Retaining and growing existing business
  • Seeking out and converting new business opportunities
  • Liaising with other sales teams
  • Liaising with other branches and managers
  • Providing general support to the sales team

Experience in a certain role isnt necessary but willingness to learn a strong work ethic ambition and motivation are essential.
