Your day as a Communications Manager

As the Full-Time Communications Manager at SwimRVA youll be at the helm of our vibrant communications calendar ensuring timely on-brand content that resonates with our mission. Youll serve as the linchpin for communication with staff community members and partners guaranteeing that SwimRVAs brand is consistently and accurately represented. Collaborating closely with the Assistant Director of Communications youll execute strategic campaigns and provide insightful performance updates. Your keen eye for detail will uphold our brand guidelines across all platforms while enhancing our online presence through engaging website and social media content.

Youll also drive mission-driven storytelling initiatives in partnership with the Development team supporting vital donor communications. Moreover your role includes managing press materials and nurturing relationships with media outlets all while tracking performance metrics to inform future strategies. With a Bachelors Degree in marketing communications new media or a related field along with 2 years of professional experience youll bring valuable expertise to our team. Knowledge and skills required for the position are:

• Strong knowledge and understanding of current digital media trends
• Excellent writing editing proofreading layout and design and professional printing/publishing skills are essential including ability to present concepts verbally
• Superior project management and time management skills
• Detail oriented and ability to multitask
• Bachelors Degree in marketing communications new media or relevant field and/or experience preferred
• 2 years professional experience in communications marketing and digital media
• Ability to work nights and weekends
