Job Summary

Navitas Healthcare LLC is seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Assistant / Timekeeper to ensure accurate timekeeping and payroll processing for a large workforce. This role supports timely payroll operations compliance with policies and labor regulations and maintains high data accuracy in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review and process employee timesheets ensuring accuracy and supervisor approvals
  • Monitor time entries missed punches overtime shift differentials and exceptions
  • Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies and assist with corrections and adjustments
  • Support payroll processing including taxes garnishments and year-end activities
  • Track employee leave (sick vacation FMLA comp time) and update systems accordingly
  • Coordinate with HR and departments on leave and attendance issues
  • Maintain accurate payroll records and audit-ready documentation
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies labor agreements and regulations

Required Skills & Experience

  • 12 years of payroll or timekeeping experience
  • Strong knowledge of payroll processes and timekeeping systems
  • Experience handling discrepancies and payroll audits
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel Word Outlook)
  • Strong attention to detail confidentiality and accuracy
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a high-volume environment
  • Good communication and problem-solving skills

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with Oracle or PeopleSoft payroll systems
  • Familiarity with union/public sector payroll practices
  • Exposure to large workforce payroll environments
  • Knowledge of garnishments tax processing and year-end reporting

Education

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Associates or Bachelors degree in HR Business Accounting or related field preferred
