Senior Developer (Java)

About This Role

Hyland is looking for a talented and experienced Senior Developer (Java) to join our engineering team in this role you will apply software engineering principles to the design development maintenance testing and evaluation of our software products. You will play a key role in delivering high-quality software within release timelines influencing technical direction and mentoring fellow team members. Your Role Responsibilities Heres What Youll Do.

• Develop complex code based on functional specifications; complete logic and algorithm design in alignment with established standards; translate and analyze software requirements into design specifications and ensure adherence to requirements.
• Perform complex peer code review and analysis; provide insight on the broader impact of software changes; incorporate business value and identify the broader impact to the software; influence and provide technical guidance to other team members.
• Test code to verify it meets technical specifications and is working as intended before submitting to code review; create and apply automated tests and test principles to software changes including (but not limited to) unit tests.
• Influence and lead on standards and processes of the team including planning work estimation solution demos reviews and implementation design of code discussions; contribute to the implementation of a delivery pipeline including test automation security and performance.
• Research complex escalations for production issues or software code issues to ensure the stability of the application; implement development standards to ensure compliance with product and industry practices and regulations.
• Mentor coach train and provide feedback to other team members; may provide feedback to leadership on the technical abilities of the team.

Role Essentials

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science Engineering or a related field or equivalent practical experience.
• Strong experience with data structures algorithms and software design principles.
• Significant experience in programming languages such as Java.
• Demonstrated ability to translate and analyze software requirementsinto design specifications ensuring adherence to technical and business requirements.
• Strong collaboration skills; demonstrated ability to mentor coach and provide technical guidance to team members; effective at influencing and leading within a team environment.

What Wed Like to See (Preferred Skills)

• Experience developing RESTful web services (REST/POST); hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines and tools such as Jenkins Octopus Deploy and Docker.
• Experience with automated testing frameworks and continuous integration tools; experience with software testing tools methodologies and quality frameworks.
• Experience working in Windows and/or Linux environmentsusing open-source tools and platforms.
• Solid understanding of SDLC processes and Agile methodologies.
• Proven ability to research and resolve complex production issuesor software code issues to ensure application stability and reliability.
