The Opportunity
KBR is seeking a proactive and analytically minded individual to join our Defence team as a Financial Project Manager within the Guided Weapons & Explosive Ordnance (GWEO) this role you will support a broad range of programs and business functions by delivering highquality financial and cost analysis aligned with Defence capability outcomes.
Working as part of the Above the Line support team you will contribute to governance assurance and program reporting activities ensuring stakeholders receive accurate timely and meaningful insights. Under the guidance of senior specialists you will help drive informed decisionmaking and support effective coordination across departments.
This role requires strong communication and organisational skills as you will maintain regular engagement with clients and project teams to ensure smooth daytoday operations and high levels of stakeholder satisfaction.
The Key Responsibilities:
- Analyse financial data from Defence systems to extract insights and develop strategiclevel briefing information.
- Conduct qualitative and quantitative assessments including variation analysis cost performance reviews and budget health checks.
- Prepare clear and concise briefs to support decisionmakers.
- Develop and maintain financial artefacts that enable effective collaboration with stakeholders.
- Support monthly governance activities and contribute to regular program reporting.
- Identify financial risks issues and opportunities and assist in developing appropriate mitigation strategies.
- Review and update documentation to ensure accuracy completeness and alignment with program requirements.
- Make informed recommendations based on detailed analysis and an understanding of broader program implications.
- Apply industry and domain knowledge to provide valuable insights into project planning and execution.
- Engage in ongoing professional development to stay current with industry trends and best practice.
- Undertake additional duties as required to support program outcomes.
The Ideal candidate will bring the following
- Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or demonstrated experience in a financial commercial or Defencerelated discipline.
- Experience working within CASG Defence or the broader Defence Industry.
- Familiarity with Defence financial management frameworks policies processes and supporting tools.
- Strong understanding of Defence financial budgeting capability and delivery systems.
- Proven experience in financial analysis reporting and performance assessment within a Defence context.
- Welldeveloped analytical and problemsolving skills with the ability to interpret complex information and provide clear recommendations.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to build strong collaborative working relationships.
- Experience within the GWEO Enterprise Defence Finance Group or similar Defence financial environments.
- Deep understanding of Defence industry trends best practices and evolving capability requirements.
- Must be eligible for access to ITAR and/or Export Controlled material.
