The University of Wollongong (UOW) is seeking an outstanding academic leader for the role of Pro ViceChancellor (Regional and Metro) to help shape the next chapter of our education mission. Reporting to the Provost and serving as a key member of the University leadership group this role provides strategic leadership across UOWs regional and metropolitan campuses including Wollongong Liverpool Sydney CBD and regional locations.

The Pro ViceChancellor will oversee the academic portfolio across UOWs Regional and Metropolitan campuses. The role works at the nexus of local communities and the University to ensure the delivery of relevant innovative highquality and accessible education across all modes and high-impact research across all locations ensuring UOW remains at the forefront of contemporary education and research across its campuses.

The role

As Pro ViceChancellor (Regional and Metro) you will:

• Lead the development and execution of UOWs Regional and Metropolitan Education Strategy aligned to institutional priorities
• Champion innovation in digital pedagogy learning technologies and flexible delivery models
• Ensure academic quality integrity and compliance across regional and metropolitan offerings
• Drive student success retention and satisfaction in distributed and blended learning environments
• Contribute to wholeofuniversity strategy governance and policy development
• Support research capacity and interdisciplinary collaboration in partnership with faculties and external stakeholders
• Lead academic workforce planning talent management performance and succession across the metropolitan and regional campus teams
• Embed UOWs Values in Action and strong commitments to equity diversity and inclusion
• Work closely with Executive Deans Deputy ViceChancellors campus leaders and senior external stakeholders across government industry and the higher education sector.
• Work closely with local community leaders to ensure a strong and effective relationship with UOW.

About you

You will bring:

• A doctoral qualification with a distinguished academic record at professorial level
• Leadership experience relevant to regional and/or metropolitan education including digital and distributed learning
• Knowledge of contemporary pedagogy educational technologies and quality assurance frameworks
• Understanding of the development of impactful research programs aligning with communities
• Demonstrated capability to lead transformational change in complex environments
• Strong strategic thinking combined with operational delivery risk management and evaluation skills
• Knowledge of relevant regulatory frameworks (e.g. TEQSA AQF online learning standards)
• A genuine commitment to equity diversity inclusion and student access
• Experience leading largescale enterprisewide initiatives and strong financial and workforce management capability will be highly regarded.
