The Role
Werelooking for aData Scientistwhospassionate about using data to shape how millions of people experience entertainment. AtViaplay our analytics & ML team works at the heart of personalization customer engagement content optimization and product innovation.
In this roleyoullhelp design and evaluate models uncover insights and collaborate closely with engineers product managers and content teams to bring ideas to life. From improving recommendations to understanding user behavior your work will directlyimpacthow our audiences connect with Viaplay.

WhatYoullBe Doing
Design train and deploy machine learning and statistical models for recommendations predictions and classification tasks
Translate business questions into data-driven problems and deliver clear actionable insights
Collaborate with product engineering content commercial CRM and marketing teams to drive data-informed decision-making
Analyze large datasets to understand user behavior content performance and platform trends
Partner with engineers to deploy models into production and monitor their performance
Contribute to a culture of curiosity knowledge sharing and continuous experimentation
What were looking for
We understand you may feel confident ticking certain boxes more than others and thats why we always keep an open mind in our recruitment process. But in order to thrive in this role we do believe youll have at least some experience in the following:
2 years of hands-on experience in applied data science or machine learning.
Experience delivering end-to-end projects from problem framing and prototyping to evaluation and analysis
Proficiency in Python and SQL with experience in data processing frameworks such as Spark
Strong analytical and statistical skills including experience designing experiments or A/B tests
Familiarity with data pipeline and workflow tools such as Airflow (or similar)
Strong communication skills with the ability to translate complex findings into clear actionable insights
Its a bonus if you have:
Experience with recommender systems personalization or content optimization
Familiarity with causal inference methods
Understanding of MLOps practices and collaboration with machine learning engineers
Experience in media streaming or e-commerce industries
